Jumping from her porch, Codi made her way down the tree and flower dotted path. On this particular day, she had on her blue jean shorts, teal sandals and her sky-like pillow case shirt. Today was a hot and sunny day, so tuched nicely behind her ears was her pair of white sunglasses and her hair was pulled back into a high pony tail with a blue and silver embroidered ribbon. One of many that she liked to tie into her hair inventions.
Waveing her hand in the air, Codi slowed her pace. The flowers greeting her at her side. Passing the fountain two blkocks from ehr house then walking a little ways coming to a sign that read " <-- Lab" "Pond -->" and "Exit" pointing to a small path on the south east side. Following the directions gave to her she made her way.
Finally she made her way to the front of the lab, the flowrs surrounding the building volumiseing the beauty of the actually surroundings. Knocking on the door Codi sat and waited silently, her eyes shifting around the door pannel. The smell of roses and other types of flowers wafting around her.

The receptionist, a plump, red-haired woman, looked up from her magazine. A visitor? Already? With a smile and a wave, she pushed the button that opened the sliding door and pressed a button on the telephone.
"Professor Daisy? There's a young trainer here to see you," she said over the intercom. Her voice echoed through the many hallways before going out with a crackle.
Ms. Carrie-Anne as she was known, smiled brightly at the young girl. "Hello there, sweetums. If you'll sit down on the couch," she ushered to a large white couch with flower-embroidered throw pillows piled on it, "the Professor will be with you in a few moments."
She didn't mention that the Professor was most likely not even in her lab coat and was probably taking a nap in the employee lounge. Carrie-Anne turned back to her magazine and began reading the article about dating tips.

Shifting her vision to the quaint tidy liveing room style white couch and throw pillows. Codi nodded with a gentle, "Okay, Thanks." And stepped in between the cracks of the tile floor and flopped lazily onto the soft couch. Hugging one of the small throw pillows to her chest, she watched the busy people hurry past. Humming quietly, Codi outlined one of the flowers on the pillow with her nail.

It was a few minutes later when Professor Daisy strolled down the hallway, looking very well-rested and content. Her lab coat was on, though rather wrinkled, and her hair was only slightly mussed. Napping? Yes, yes she was. Did anyone expect less from the Feline Professor?
Daisy took a deep breath and recited her lines. "Greetings and welcome to the Garden Town Pok?mon Lab. If you'd follow me, I'll lead you to the Pok?mon Room where you may play with the starters before choosing."
She was rather fond of the Pok?mon Room and the look on young trainers' faces when they saw the set-up. Young Pok?mon running around the room, playing with all the toys. And when the weather was good, they were allowed to play outside in the adjacent lawn. They had a kiddie pool, a slide, and a sandbox...ah, it was too good.

Codi popped her head up ay the soothing sound of the females voice. Blinking regularly, Codi sat up slowly and finallt stood up paying close attention to the ruffled hair woman as she fiddled with her sandal. "Oh hi, its nice to meet you ma'am." Codi slighty bowed and looked at the professor with a stiff look. Ready to follow the lady, Codi brushed down her shirt and nodded as professor daisy finished what she had to say.

The Pok?mon Room was just down the hall and Professor Daisy opened the door and stepped inside. A majority of the young Pok?mon were settling down for a nap and regarded the stranger curiously.
"As you can see, we've got all sorts of starters. Take all the time you need to get to know them," Daisy said with a smile. A young male Bulbasaur butted against her leg and she picked him up with a grunt. She cooed and baby-talked to the Grass Pok?mon before setting him in a small bed.

Codi blew bangs from her eyes and kneeling down to pat one of the remaining awake eevee between the ears. "Thank you ma'am. Would you recommend any?" she cooed gently as not to scare the small eevee away. [/size]

Daisy shrugged. "It all depends on what you're looking for, really. Eevee's are usually picked by trainers who want to breed or haven't yet decided what type they want. Grass-types are overall the easiest starters to train followed by Water and Fire. Pichus are adorable and do really good in Contests while Abra and Dratini are really strong when they evolve."
Of course, Professor Daisy knew that Skitty and Meowth were the best Pok?mon in the world.

Codi smiled and nodded, picking up the small female eevee as she did. "Eevee's are cute. But I do love dragon types, and chikorita has always been a favoeite of mine. But I just can't deside of the three." she sighed quietly so the professor couldn't hear and looked down at the eevee laying baby-style in her arms.

Daisy sat on the floor and called over a young Dratini and Chikorita. The Dratini slithered on the ground, obviously a bit shy at the sudden attention. The Chikorita, however, rushed over and demanded to be held.
"These two have been here a while," she said, absently petting the Chikorita. She smiled at Codi and invited her to sit next to her.

Codi smiled at the newly arrived Dratini and Chikorita. "There so cute!" Codi giggled setting the eevee down to run and topple over the Chikorita. Nodding and accepting the professors invitation Codi scooted over and sat down pretzle-style beside her. Setting a still hand on the Dratini, Codi smiled as softly as she could and ran her finger down the slimy back of the baby Pok?mon. "How did you guys get Pok?mon like Abra, Dratini, and Eevee in here? I thought they were rare."

"It's called Pok?mon Breeders, love. You can't honestly expect that a rare but wanted Pok?mon will stay rare for long, can you?" Of course, those trainers who picked the rarer starters were in for a long haul. Pichu had to be happy to evolve, Eevee had the issue of collecting elemental stones, Dratini were slow to evolve, and Abra were notoriously difficult to raise. Daisy hummed to herself as she thought. Though the Abra received from breeders did know Confusion, they wouldn't learn another move until level 18.
"They all seem to like you, dear." 'Like' as in they weren't trying to bite or chew or run away. It was up to the girl now. Daisy never had the problem of choosing Pok?mon, favoring cats and dedicating herself to them. Not many trainers these days specialized, though.

"Oh, yeah. I guess breeders would be a big thing with this kidna stuff." She sweat dropped itching the back of her head and watching the Eevee drift off.
"Oh well, I was wondering if I could get a Torchic? I was thinking and after what you were saying. Chikorita and Torchic seemed to be the best choices between my favorite types ya know..." Codi coughed a little itching the back of her head and fixing a piece of ehr hair. "Sorry for the change in mind." she quietly added in hopeing to not upset the nice professor.

"Oh, it's no trouble at all!" The longer a trainer took in choosing a Pok?mon, the less work she'd have to do. She ushured all the Torchics they kept into a flock. One in particular seemed overjoyed at having the possibility of being chosen. So much, in fact, that he tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground. Another Torchic, a female, clucked at him before trying to help him up.
"See a particular one you want or do you want a surprise?" Most trainers these days always had very specific ideas of what they wanted in a starter. Back in her day, you got what you got and you were thankful for it.

"Hmm." Setting her finger to her bottom lip, watching the interaction between the two young torchic. "That one... Please. she blushed pointing to the small male torchic, seeing how happy and excited he was. She thought he would be a good starter Pok?mon. Plus, she aways thought of a Blaziken as a large strong Pok?mon to have around. Smiling at the torchic she bent down and pet the three orange feathers emitting from its head and half smiled, closing her eyes as she did.
