Name: Kallico Wang
Nicknames: Kalli
Gender: Female
Level: 31
Species: Persian
Appearance: Callico is your normal Persian Pokémon. She has pale creamy fur, perhaps a bit on the whiter side. In bright sunlight, it is almost painful to look at(although where she takes residence, it is a rare occurrence). Nikki convinced her once she was "half-shiny" due to this(see history). She is fairly well muscled, and still retains paw pads on the soft side, due to her upbringing(though they've toughened noticeably). Her fur also still retains a shiny, pet-quality. It hasn't had time to look really rugged yet. She has bright eyes, but the color is a fairly-dark brown, but more of a reddish-brown, like a red mahogany. From a distance, they will look black or very dark brown. Her forehead jewell is crimson, of course, and is quite large as far as they go. Her father picked her out, as a Meowth, for this very reason(of course, with a coin instead of a jewel).
A very haughty Pokémon. Among fans, the size of the jewel in its forehead is a topic of much talk.
Personality: A Persian is a Persian, but Kalli is different. She's only cold to strangers, usually, and people she doesn't like. She's not fond of strange ideas either, and usually sticks to what she knows.
Persian, although popular for their elegant airs, are extremely hard to raise. Underneath its refined facade is a fierce predator. It will Scratch anyone, including its trainers with little or no reason. It has been observed ripping its prey apart for no discernible reason. A useful trick to know when training Persian, is that if it is yanked by its whiskers, it becomes temporarily docile. The reason for this is unknown.
If she's around her family or friends, Kalli strives to be the perfect lap cat. Because of this, she's also a bit protective. She usually likes smaller groups, where there are less people at once. Her whiskers are extremely sensitive, so large groups and crowds(especially at rock concerts) make her extremely uncomfortable. Kalli is a practiced whiner and beggar, and won't hesitate to grovel to get her way if she has to.
Kalli is a coward, and is a very aesthetic individual. She'd go for a coat-softener shampoo more readily than a stat-booster. But the fighting spirit, of course, is something that all Pokémon share. When it's against friends, Kalli would be hesitant and probably lose. She hates to hurt anyone's feelings, and she doesn't like battling against other Pokémon she's friends with. She's also not patient, so without a good reason she gives up easily. Against people she deems her "enemies"(mostly consisting, to the time of this bio, little kids who've tried to pull her tail or otherwise aggravate her) or strangers whom she doesn't care about, she'll do her best. She does more than her best if someone is watching her. It doesn't matter if she's just trying to look good in front of them, it just matters if she knows them. A bit of a quirk, but it works in her favor.
She also is curious, as feline Pokémon are wont to be. If she's feeling down, this takes itself in an ugly turn. How bad would a small human be hurt if I batted a clawed paw at it? I've never tried that before. What does a Gulpin's other insides look like, besides its stomach?
Persian, although popular for their elegant airs, are extremely hard to raise. Underneath its refined facade is a fierce predator. It will use Scratch on anyone, including its trainers with little or no reason. It has been observed ripping its prey apart for no discernible reason. A useful trick to know when training Persian, is that if it is yanked by its whiskers, it becomes temporarily docile. The reason for this is unknown.
History: Kalli was born and raised at the Pokémon Mansion. There were Persians, Blisseys, Raichus there as breeding stock, to refill the garden. The ones trainers came in for an easy catch. Obviously, when the Meowth hatched, she never knew her siblings or her caretakers, and was released into the garden. Outside the fenced-in area of tall grass was a meadow. There, the small Pokémon learned from the Pokémon there what to eat, how to battle, etc. before they were instructed(or forced) to go under the fence and battle trainers.
Curious and intrugued, Kalli climbed up the hill at level seven. Boy was she in for a surprise.
Battling—especially at the tender level of seven—is really stressful! The first one who approached me was a trainer who looked like they just left their nest. She wore pale-colored clothing, and had the look of a brave Raikou on her face, but you could see that she just was putting on a brave face. But what’s worse? She sent a large Ratticate to flush me out of the grass! It hissed and snarled with the best of them, that I was cornered near my nest when I finally decided to scratch him. I leapt and raked my claws and teeth across its face, hearing it squeal with every satisfying swipe. I then leapt off. I was shaking, and stumbled across even the smallest pebbles when I tried to dodge the next attack. Unfortunately, I didn’t. The human simply said a few words, and suddenly the Ratticate pounced on me, biting my shoulder until I felt like it had just been lit on fire. That was the last thing I remember, before being woken up in a bright room. I guess I’d fainted.
Then I stayed away from the tall people. I hate battling. I don’t mind a playful squabble, but it was clear that those big folk were our enemies, coming to catch us prisoners.
After that battle, Kalli didn't wander in again untill level 16, when she was forced. The next person to come in was a tall man in a suit, with salt-and-pepper hair and a kind expression. His Scizor used one false swipe and she was then swept into a Luxury ball and was stored in a box for some time. It happened to be three weeks, give or take a few days.
The next time she was released(she had been released while she was near fainted to be healed and fed, but she was quite drowsy and didn't remember it much) she saw the face of her new best friend. Kalli was the 9th-Birthday present to Nikki Wang, daughter of Charles and Lillian Wang. Nikki was a bright and happy nine-year-old, ecstatic when she finally had a Pokémon of her own. She brought Kalli to school, where at recess the kids brought out their Pokémon pets, if they had one. Every kid in Jubilife wanted a Pok?mon; it was deemd 'cool' to have a Pokémon. It was deemed ever 'cooler' if the Pokémon was especially macho or strong or beautiful. It may be a world of Pok?mon, but school is school and children will be children. Nikki wanted to catch her own Pokémon for some time, though her parents did not allow her to. Nikki's best friend, Kimber, had a level 12 Skitty(nicknamed Skittles), and Nikki became very fond of cat Pok?mon, spending loads of time with Skittles. She then brought Kalli to school, who became friends with Skittles, but her primary bond was with Nikki. She did whatever Nikki did, whatever Nikki wanted to do, and snuggled up to her at night and shared her secrets. They were inseparable.
As Nikki moved up in the grades, Pokémon were mandatory. Being somewhat 'liberal', contest battling wasn't taught yet while she was there, so battling was her favorite class. She was required to use a team of Pokémon for some classes. Other times in school, as long as they were quiet and not interrupting, one Pokémon was allowed to be out of its pokeball in class.
Nikki had a sudden obsession for shiny Pok?mon, when she started studying them in school. She had a convincing voice- Kalli strutted for nearly a week, convinced that her light coat was "half-shiny" since it wasn't normal Meowth color of light yellow. And that her ears, following suit, were somewhat of a lighter brown inside, and so light shone though illuminating it to a pinkish-taupe in bright sunlight. Kalli never gave up on this, and still thinks of it when she's down or homesick. Perhaps, after all, she is half-shiny, if there is such a thing; the world may never know.
On field trips, when a wild Pokémon were spotted, the students were usually allowed to attempt capture. They even battled, graded upon skill and strategy using the school's teams of Pok?mon. But Nikki adamantly stuck to just Kalli, and the school's Pokémon when she needed(or was forced to use) a balanced team. But one day, during a training session, Kalli evolved. It wasn't usually accepted to stop an evolution, which she'd done until Kalli evolved to level 31. She didn't mind so much after that. When many kids looked at a Persian, they saw a fearsome predator, so a Persian was a "cool" Pokémon. It made it better for Nikki- she was quite upset that her adorable little Kalli was now evolved.
When she got home, her father was quite upset when he saw the Persian walk through the door. He tried to acquire an everstone to give to Kalli, because he'd heard how dangerous Persians could be, even to experienced trainers. Nikki wasn't even close- last Kalli knew, she'd only gotten her first badge. Mr. Wang instructed his daughter carefully to stop Kalli from evolving whenever she looked like she might.
The reason why was apparent when Kalli was going on a walk and a small kid pulled on the Persian's curly tail. Jerked around, her tail swung over and the small boy was knocked completely over. Kalli had her whiskers pulled immediately(triggering the equivalent to a tranquilizer, though she doesn't actually go unconcious) and then Nikki helped the kid up- he was crying big time, and plenty bruised. The Persian didn't mean to. It just happened. A couple more occurences happened where she wasn't as gentle as she used to be. She was becoming a regular Persian. Some of these included dish breaking, hurting other humans, and imploding several boxes from her weight.
Her father then had to say that Kalli had to go. He still hadn't found an everstone, so he promised her a Glameow- he hadn't realized that without an everstone, a Glameow would evolve and even get uglier. Nikki, of course, was in tears and refused the thought of a replacement, thinking it vulgar. Kalli, having a good grasp on the English language, was horribly distraught as well.
As forced and decided, Kalli was released at level 31, left to wander the streets of Chenoa city. Nikki still lived there, and Kalli knew no other home. She came back to the door, yowling and meowing her best. She then went to get attention other ways. She scratched the back door's paint off, eventually splintering it, getting back in. A new door replaced it, with a metal sheet most of the way up. Kalli then resented Mr. Wang, and made her way to where it was quiet. She didn't stop from making news; cameras came to watch as she turned over a berry cart, gobbling up her favorites, Bluk and Oran. She then got restrained by a police's Growlithe, and fought back harshly. She managed to get away, dashing into the forest.
Other Information: Although it remains unseen, she has the Pokémon version of a microchip, embedded in her shoulder. She abides to the statements in the pokedex about her whiskers; when pulled she's basically like a tranquilized animal after they wake up- slowed, dull, only half awake. She doesn't remember what goes on.
Also, her whiskers are sensitive enough that she could close her eyes and locate nearby objects by sound vibrations bouncing off of them. But she keeps her eyes open, obviously. That's how she would hunt.
Roleplay Sample: Kali heard the sticks break. Ears perking up, she swung her ivory head over to the bush, peering through the waxy green leaves. Just a wild Sentret reaching for berries. Yawning, she was tired. But yet the Persian was hungry. Hunger came before sleep in the wild.
Delicately jumping, she landing with a crunch on the dead leaves underneath her. She hoped to return before her warm spot on her home, a slanted fallen trunk, didn't cool before she got back. Shruggin a Persian shrug, the sun was no doubt going to come out soon anyways. She just knew it, seeing as the sun was peeking through the clouds next to snippets of blue-grey.
Nose to the leaves, she tried to sniff out a berry tree. There ought to be a grove somewhere; there were a couple she'd been chased out of in the past. Turning her nose to the wind, she paused, eyes zoning out on a tree as she concentrated on the scents blowing by.
Tail flicking, she caught a whiff of her favorite; Bluk, and a bit of Oran as well. Heading towards the scent, she stayed low among the shrubbery; Kali stuck out like a sore thumb.
Catching sight of the trees, The persian jumped up on a sturdy branch, and bit off one of the sweet yet somewhat dry navy berries, and all was quiet. Good berries, good places, good weather(she'd started growing a thicker coat; it was keeping her toasty already).
It was enough to make Kalico purr to herself in contentment.
